Ed

"Some of the benefits of training with Ken over the years are his motivation to set your goals a little higher. It is much easier to keep your weight off when you have a trainer to keep you honest and on track. Ken has a great group of clients that are very enjoyable to workout with."

"I believe that my recovery from several surgeries was much easier because of my conditioning and Ken's understanding of body alignment and joint movements."

Years training with Ken:  12

Ed has exemplified a never-give-up attitude as well as anyone I have ever trained. He refuses to make excuses, and is always looking for a way to move to the next level. Ed has more energy than most people 20 years younger. He is an inspiration to all who work out with him. I have learned so much about handling adversity from Ed. I know one thing for sure about Ed. If he is breathing he is striving to improve. I hope other people will be inspired by Ed's story!

Ken Rex CES/MES

Libby
"Along with being a senior senior-citizen, I have had a few minor problems (1) Falls ( no broken bones—only bruises and a battered ego.) (2.) Arthritus in hands and feet.

I have been training with Ken Rex for 5 years and it has meant the continuation of excellent health; ability to move easily; ability to enjoy life particularly in association with younger people; to be involved with my particular interests-music, church, family, theater, etc. I owe my good health and good life to my Personal Trainer (Ken) and his methods to keep me motivated."

Libby Skerritt
Age-84, Retired, Widow

Libby has been a great role model for many of my clients. Her energy is incredible! Week in and week out Libby perform the same workout as a client 40 years younger. She is truly amazing! I have never worked with a more determined person in my life. Libby refuses to give anything other than her best each time she enters the gym. She is the most fit person (in her age group), that I have had the priviledge to work with.

Libby's typical workout:

  • Treadmill-3.5mph-10mins
  • Efx-L-6-10mins
  • Rower-1000meters
  • Lower body -150reps
  • Core exercise-150reps
  • Upper body-150reps
  • Stretching-5-10min

Gail

Gail Gallipeau  is your typical Mom who juggles work, family, and fitness.

Initially, she had little interest in weight training. As you can see, things have changed and she has become very committed to exercise. I know Gail’s family and I know how proud they are of her and what she has accomplished.

Here is some of Gail’s routine.

  • Cardio-4 days per week
  • Weight training-3 days per week
  • Gail has leg pressed over 400 pounds for 6 reps
  • She can bench press her body weight
  • Gail has done 10 pull-ups in succession- A MAJOR WOW HERE!

Even though Gail is very strong her endurance is her strongest asset. She has done 100 sit-ups in two minutes. Try that!

I am proud of Gail and I hope that you too realize that if you stay with it, you too can achieve what you might think is impossible!

"I've been training with ken for 7 years.  During that time I have  learned that with the right positive attitude, anything is possible.  I've had many  highs and lows to reach the fitness level I'm currently  at, but through it all the experience has been a rewarding one.  I've  gained confidence, energy and strength that I never imagined having."

"Fitness has become a huge part of who I am.  I can't explain the  satisfaction that I feel when I walk out of the gym from a  workout, and  have accomplished something I never thought possible.  Over the years,  I've had many of those days, and expect  many more ahead.  This is  part  of my life that I won't let slip away,  and plan to be in it for the long haul."

Sal

"Over the past 12 yrs working out with Ken. I know I have better health. My legs don't do the thing they every one else's legs do because I have both hips replaced. Along with that I still try to work around the 3 brain surgeries I have had. Thank God I have a trainer that has put up with so many area's of difficulty."

"It has been very hard for me to do this. I am also very grateful for my wife because in her little ways of exercising with me it make it easier to get there. I know I don't look any thinner at 230lbs.but I know that Iwould be much heavier if I wasn’t in a gym trying to lose weight. I need to say thanks for being at my side when I need help. First for being a friend, second for being the best trainer for me."
        - Sal

Sal is a great example of training through adversity. He has had more than his share of problems. What makes Sal so special is that he accepts his misfortune and goes forward with an attitude that separates him from many. He knows that he needs to exercise in spite of his pain. He knows that other people rely on him. Sal is a leader and a teacher of will, attitude, and discipline.

Take a look at Sal's numbers and you will see what dedication is all about:
  • Treadmill 1mile at 5% grade- 14:45
  • Chest press-220lbs-5reps
  • Seated row-220lbs-5reps
  • 1 min curl-up test-75 reps

Not bad for two artificial hips and three brain surgeries! Sal can teach us all about adversity!
